Based just outside of Hassocks, CG Electrical South Ltd is an electrical contractor working predominantly on retail and commercial projects throughout the UK, occasionally working on more local domestic jobs and small works jobs.
We are looking to hire a Junior Electrical Estimator on a full-time permanent basis to assist our Project Management team in both providing cost estimates for jobs and securing new jobs. This will be a key position within the company.
This is a junior position in a role that you will have the opportunity to grow into. Experience in the electrical industry with an understanding of what is involved in retail/commercial projects is advantageous.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Reviewing client enquiries and tender documentation to identify project requirements
• Preparing electrical estimates based on our pricing strategies to meet client needs
• Gathering information required to assist with the above
• Managing time effectively when working across multiple jobs to ensure timely submissions
• Maintaining an understanding of supplier pricing to ensure materials and plant costs are reasonable
• Maintaining an understanding of sub-contractor and apprentice labour costs to ensure labour costs are reasonable
• Communicating and working closely with internal project managers and purchasing team members
• Managing external stakeholder relationships to provide a high level of service
• Building upon customer relationships to gain future tender opportunities

Skills/Experience:

• Preferably from an electrical background with industry experience
• Able to read electrical/technical drawings
• An understanding of estimating and pricing
• Computer literate
• Good communication, both verbal and written
• Willing to learn and progress
• Proactive approach to problem-solving
• Able to work to deadlines
