Penspen www.penspen.com are looking forward to hiring two Junior Energy Transition Mechanical Engineers with 2 to 5 years experience.
You will undertake design and engineering work and apply practical knowledge to provide technical support especially on pipeline and piping related project elements.
You will provide support to the Mechanical, Pipeline, and Piping discipline teams to meet project requirements and deadlines.
Occasional you will be an independent judgment required in the collection, assembly, and preliminary determination of engineering data.
You will support Penspen’s clients across the UK and Europe to strengthen their infrastructure and support their transition to low carbon energy (CCS, green ammonia, Hydrogen, etc.)
Do you have the following:-

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, or a similar subject. Master preferred.
  • Graduate/Associate member of IMechE, or an equivalent institute.

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE (SKILLS):

Most of the department projects are related to the energy transition.

  • Working knowledge of mechanical principles (structural mechanics, materials, etc.).
  • Able to review and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Understanding of the challenges associated with net zero fluid (CO2, hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, etc.) production, transportation, and storage.
  • Understanding of the mechanical design process and implementation for pipeline facilities, storage facilities, gas process plants, and chemical plants desirable.
  • Understanding of the engineering requirements for FEED and detailed design project phases
  • Practical experience of stress analysis work scopes is desirable.
  • Understanding of design that minimizes environmental impact desirable.
  • Discretion and confidentiality at all times.
  • Able to work independently and be highly organised.
  • Computer literate with all MS Packages, particularly Word and Excel proficiency.
  • Knowledge/experience with FEA software desirable (AutoPIPE, Caesar II, Abaqus, etc.)
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills; good customers service skills.
  • Flexibility to work within team environment.
