Job Description Ramboll is seeking a Junior Engineer / Project Manager and invite you to bring your expertise in Project Management into play as you provide project & programme management services for internal and external clients on a wide range of transport schemes including civils/highways/ports/aviation/ energy and water sectors. The role will involve multi-disciplinary management of exciting projects across the UK and Ireland with flexible working and close interaction with our teams and clients, occasional travel will of course be necessary. To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience of managing the design process and construction of transport projects. You will join our Project Management excellence team You will be part of our wider project management community delivering a wide range of major transport construction projects in the UK and Ireland and overseas. The work is challenging, exciting and involves dealing with clients and a broad range of stakeholders, consequently it is vital for applicants to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and are able to form close and effective working relationships. Responsibilities: Project Coordination & Administration Attend project meetings and produce clear, accurate, and time‑bound meeting minutes. Track actions, follow up with responsible parties, and maintain action logs. Support document management, ensuring project files, registers, and records are up to date. Programme & Planning Support Assist in reviewing construction programmes, identifying progress, risks, and potential delays. Work with planners and the project team to gather updates and verify programme data. Support the monitoring of key milestones and critical path activities. Reporting & Dashboards Compile weekly and monthly project dashboards using data provided by the project team. Maintain KPIs and project performance metrics (cost, schedule, risks, safety, quality). Support preparation of reports for internal stakeholders and external clients. Construction Understanding Develop a working knowledge of construction processes, sequencing, and project lifecycle. Assist in reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical submittals as required. Support site walks, inspections, and progress reviews with technical staff. Project Controls & Compliance Assist in tracking change events and maintaining registers (risks, issues, change, assumptions). Help monitor contractor performance against contract requirements. Ensure all reporting complies with internal governance and audit requirements. About you Essential Minimum of 1 – 2 years’ experience in construction-based project management or design role Strong written communication skills, particularly in meeting minutes and reporting Ability to analyse data and present information clearly and accurately Basic understanding of construction terminology, processes, and project stages Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power BI, and/or other dashboard tools Organised, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Positive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast‑paced environment Desirable Familiarity with programme management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) Understanding of project controls, KPIs, and change management Previous internship or placement experience in construction or engineerin Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline What we can offer you Commitment to your development Leaders guided by our Leadership Principles A culture that welcomes you as the unique person you are Inspiration from colleagues, clients, and projects The long-term thinking of a foundation-owned company Flexible work environment Ready to join us?
