Junior Engineer - Entry-Level Role Designed for a Recent Graduate Join One of Australia's Largest In-House Engineering Teams UGLs’ Major Projects business unit delivers large‑scale EPC projects across transport, energy, resources and industrial sectors, including nationally significant work such as Cross River Rail, Victorian Big Battery, and major power assets. These are complex, high-impact projects that bring together multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, end-to-end engineering solutions. Right now, we’re supporting the Cross River Rail project in Brisbane, particularly through its testing and commissioning phase. To help us through this stage, we’ve created a new permanent full time opportunity for a Junior Engineer to join the team. This is an entry-level engineering role designed for a recent graduate or early-career professional who’s keen to build real-world experience on major infrastructure projects. You’ll support the delivery of engineering and design outcomes across project phases, from documentation through to on-site commissioning while developing your technical skills along the way. About the role Day-to-day, you’ll be involved in a mix of office-based engineering work and on-site exposure. Initially, you’ll focus on producing testing & commissioning documentation, understanding system design, and supporting implementation activities. Over time, you’ll gain hands-on experience on site, contributing to commissioning activities and broader project delivery. You’ll work closely with engineers, project teams and external partners, learning how complex systems come together in a live operational environment. Key responsibilities Support the development of engineering design and project documentation, including reports, drawings and plans. Assist with preparing testing, commissioning and inspection documentation. Review and help coordinate design outputs to ensure they meet project requirements. Work closely with project teams to support procurement, construction and commissioning activities. A recent graduate or early-career engineer keen to build hands-on experience. A genuine willingness to learn and develop new skills in a project environment.
