ABOUT THE JOB:

Kent is looking for a EIT Calgary or Sarnia Ontario
The successful candidate will report to the Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecom Discipline Manager and be assigned to various projects associated with the Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals industry as directed by the Project Management group.
Skills and Responsibilities:

KNOWLEDGE/ QUALIFICATION/ TRAINING/ CERTIFICATION:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
  • Registered as an EIT (Engineer in Training) in Canada
Responsibilities
  • Uses knowledge of the general concepts of relevant electrical engineering elements including the design of power systems and substations
  • Assists the lead and team members in preparing Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecom drawings and documents. Conducts basic calculations and performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
  • Good writing skills to produce reports, scope documents and presentation materials.
  • Attending project team meetings, Client meetings and vendor review meetings
  • Establishing a good working relationship with the Clients and representing the company professionally when dealing with any 3rd parties.
  • Performing field visits to validate existing drawings and confirm tie-in locations.
  • Demonstrate a high regard for safety, quality and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Program GE and Vendor Relays by using the vendor software
  • Perform electrical calculations and support production of electrical deliverables under the supervision of senior engineers.
    In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee’s skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee’s current workload and with respect to their professional development.
