WSP Italia is seeking a Junior Environmental Engineer/Scientist with experience to join our Remediation Engineering team within the Development & Remediation Industrial & Commercial Business Unit. This is a full-time position based in Milan, Italy.

We are looking for a proactive and adaptable professional who thrives in a dynamic work environment. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Environmental, Civil, or Hydraulic Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Sciences and possesses a strong foundation in soil and groundwater remediation and waste management regulations, particularly Legislative Decree 152/2006 e smi.
Fluency in Italian and a good command of English are essential for effective communication in both local and international projects.
The role requires technical expertise in site investigation, remediation design, and O&M activities, along with advanced knowledge of soil and groundwater contamination issues. Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with remedial system design, FEED, and detailed engineering are key assets, while hands-on experience with innovative remediation technologies is a plus.
A willingness to travel within Italy and abroad for both short- and long-term assignments is crucial, offering a unique opportunity to work on diverse and impactful environmental projects.

In this role, you will be actively involved in drafting essential environmental documents, including Site Characterisation Plans for soil, groundwater, waste, soil-gas, and ambient air, as well as Remediation Conceptual and Feasibility Studies.
You will also contribute to the development of Remediation Plans that drive sustainable and effective site cleanup strategies. Additionally, you will support Human Health Risk Assessments and Environmental Modeling, helping to evaluate potential environmental impacts and guide decision-making. Preparing Project Progress Reports will also be a key responsibility, ensuring clear communication and project transparency.
Beyond technical documentation, this role offers hands-on field experience in site investigation and remediation activities. You will be involved in the installation, commissioning, test runs, and start-up of remediation systems, as well as ongoing Operations & Maintenance (O&M) activities. Your expertise will contribute to site certification, closure processes, and due diligence assessments, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
