Responsibilities
  • Organize and prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, contract bids, drawings, specifications, and all relevant documentation.
  • Analyze labor, materials, and equipment requirements to identify project costs using Bluebeam and Excel, specifically for building envelope systems.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and cost estimation for various industrial, commercial, and institutional construction projects.
  • Optimize material usage by generating cut lists.
  • Follow up with clients after quotation submissions to ensure clarity and engagement.
  • Coordinate and consult with clients for bid reviews and respond to questions or requests for clarification.
  • Review project scope with clients and provide informed recommendations and product selections.
  • Request and compare material pricing from various suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
  • Maintain an up-to-date directory of suppliers and vendors.
  • Prepare complete bid packages, formulate RFIs, and develop detailed proposals for submission.
  • Offer value engineering options and cost-effective alternatives as required.
  • Provide tailored solutions in response to client needs and project-specific demands.
  • Collaborate closely with accounting, engineering, drafting, and project management teams for smooth project handover after contract award.
  • Contribute to team success by supporting related initiatives and responsibilities as needed.
  • Utilize working knowledge of Excel and word processing software to prepare documents and reports.
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with engineers and project managers to prepare economic feasibility assessments and adjust cost estimates accordingly.
