You’ll start by building strong estimating skills while working alongside experienced estimators and project managers. Responsibilities include: Prepare and submit accurate and competitive estimates for HVAC and piping projects Perform detailed take-offs from architectural and mechanical plans Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs Prepare bid proposals and supporting documentation Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to gather pricing Work with project managers and senior estimators during the bidding process Communicate with mechanical engineers and respond to RFIs Help clarify project scope, inclusions, and exclusions for clients Begin developing relationships with contractors and clients as you grow toward a sales role What We're Looking For 1–3 years of experience in construction estimating, project management, or sales within mechanical trades Experience with commercial HVAC or plumbing projects preferred Ability to read construction drawings and specifications Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Excellent communication and organizational abilities Interest in eventually transitioning into a client-facing sales role Experience with estimating software such as Bluebeam, Procore, or similar platforms is a plus Education in construction management, engineering, or related field is a plus Your Career Path at RLP At RLP Mechanical, this role is designed to grow with you.
