OVERVIEW

Infinity Construction is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Estimator Coordinator to join our growing team. This junior-level position combines both construction estimating and project coordination responsibilities. The successful candidate will support the estimating process, assist in managing project timelines, and help build and maintain our unit cost database.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and organizational skills, an excellent understanding of BC Building Codes and current market costs, and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders. Proficiency in construction software and strong English communication skills are required. Spanish language skills are considered an asset but not mandatory.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS.

  • Post-secondary education in construction, engineering, architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with Cost Management and Budgeting
  • Experience in construction estimating, quantity Take-offs skills, and project coordination, or a related junior role, is an asset.
  • Knowledge of BC Building Codes and current market pricing for construction materials and trades.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of estimating and project management software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong Communication skills (both verbal and written); English required. Spanish is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Previous experience in tender procedures is highly desired.

Responsibilities

ROLE DESCRIPTION

This is a full-time on-site role for a Junior Estimator/ project coordinator located in Burnaby, BC. The Junior Construction Estimator will be responsible for day-to-day tasks including preparing accurate quantity take-offs, assisting in the preparation of detailed cost estimates, managing budget, and coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Advise on tendering procedures, examine and analyze tenders and conduct negotiations. Establish and maintain tendering process and set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures The role requires close collaboration with project managers and other personnel to ensure the company meets project deadlines and cost expectations. Attention to detail is highly important. As well as knowledge of Building codes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate the preparation of accurate and complete estimates for construction projects.
  • Review drawings, blueprints, and specifications to identify scope, work requirements, and potential cost impacts.
  • Collect and analyze cost data to help develop and maintain a unit cost database for ongoing and future projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to gather information needed for pricing and scheduling.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
  • Analyze tenders, prepare bid forms, and make recommendations for award.
  • Prepare and submit estimate reports, quotes, and supporting documentation in a timely manner.
  • Assist in setting up project cost monitoring, reporting systems, and schedules.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide updates on estimating and coordination progress.
  • Ensure all estimates and documentation comply with BC Building Codes and company standards.
