ABOUT US:

The Northwest Training and Adjustment Board is a community-directed, non-profit corporation leading the Kenora and Rainy River Districts in their approach to workforce development and labour market planning and is based in Dryden, Ontario. NTAB functions as a neutral broker of research, disseminator of information, and facilitator of collaborative partnership development. Operating as part of the Local Boards Network of Ontario, it is one of 26 local planning board areas funded by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development to conduct and distribute local labour market research and engage community stakeholders in a planning process that supports local solutions to local issues. NTAB’s mandate is to provide guidance regarding important workforce and employment challenges facing the Kenora and Rainy River Districts.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business, or Finance (preferred).
· Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a leadership role within a not-for-profit organization.
· Strong computer-based skills, including competency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as accounting software, and the ability to learn new programs.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

· Effective leadership skills with a focus on creativity and motivation.
· Proven ability to manage relationships with business partners and government agencies.
· Ability to identify key issues and develop creative, strategic solutions to challenges.
· Knowledge of federal and provincial legislation relevant to the voluntary sector (employment standards, human rights, occupational health and safety, charities, taxation, CPP, EI, health coverage, etc.).
· Strong fiscal management skills, including business finance, capital funding, contracts, and partnerships.
· Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
· Knowledge of risk management, personnel policies, practices, and procedures.
· Strong attention to detail, integrity, confidentiality, diplomacy, and negotiation skills.
