Description
As a Junior Financial Accountant, you will assist the Finance team with day-to-day accounting tasks, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. You will work closely with senior accountants and other members of the finance team to support the preparation of monthly management accounts, annual financial statements, and assist with banking and treasury tasks. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of the Finance Team are key requirements. It is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business and be exposed to various elements of a Finance function. In due course, this role may also offer occasional cover/relief in regards to the Accounts Receivable/Payable Teams as needed. Key Responsibilities: Assist with Monthly Management Accounts: Support the preparation of accurate monthly management accounts, ensuring all financial information is correctly recorded and reported. Financial Analysis & Support Business Partners: Provide basic financial analysis and reports to help track business performance. Reconciliation: Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records. General Ledger Maintenance: Help maintain and update the general ledger, posting transactions and reviewing for accuracy. Annual Financial Statements: Assist with the preparation of the company's annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards. Audit Support: Support internal and external auditors during audits and ensure timely delivery of required documentation. Banking and Treasury: Assist with basic banking and treasury tasks, including cash flow management (Sweeps), bank transactions, and bank account/credit card administration. Support Lease Management: Assist with managing and tracking lease agreements, including maintaining lease records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards for leases. Corporate Secretarial Support: Assist with corporate secretarial tasks, including Business Name Registrations. Administrative Support: Perform various administrative tasks related to the finance function, including data entry, filing, and document management. Ad Hoc Tasks: Provide support for any other ad hoc financial, project or administrative tasks as required by the business. Support and Cover: In due course, this role may offer Ad Hoc/Support and cover for the Accounts Payable and Receivable Teams; including Processing invoices, managing payments, and ensure that accounts are kept up-to-date. Skills & Qualifications: Educational Requirements: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent). [Preferred] Ongoing or completed CPA/CA certification (or equivalent). Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a similar accounting or finance role. Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices. Ability to perform financial analysis and manage financial data. Personal Attributes: Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
