Description

ABOUT MEGAPORT

We’re not your typical tech company – and we don’t want to be. Megaport is the global leader in Network as a Service (NaaS), and has transformed the way businesses connect to the cloud, data centers, and each other. We’re publicly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and partnered with the biggest names in tech like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, IBM, and more. Headquartered in Brisbane with a crew of over 350 people spread across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas, our employees enjoy an environment that is collaborative, supportive, and (actually) fun.

Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE

We are seeking a Junior Financial Accountant to join our high-performing finance team. Reporting to the Group Finance Manager based in Brisbane HQ, you will work with a team of accountants to deliver accurate financial results, conduct timely and meaningful analyses and reports, and contribute to key business initiatives.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, forward-thinking environment. In return, you will have the opportunity to work in a ASX listed growth business in the Tech industry and collaborate with and learn from a wide range of teams within the Group Finance function including Corporate Finance, Corporate Reporting, Shared Services, Finance Systems, Tax and FP&A. Additionally, you will also work closely with other departments on key business initiatives and projects including Sales, Operations, Procurement, Legal, Marketing and Engineering.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Work with the team to complete ongoing financial accounting and month-end close procedures including preparing calculations, posting journals, performing analysis and reconciliations.
  • Maintaining the fixed and intangible asset registers.
  • Providing analysis and commentary to support management reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and half-yearly basis as well as ad hoc reporting as required.
  • Assist with the Group and Statutory audits.
  • Reviewing, developing, and implementing new and existing policies and procedures in the company.
  • Effectively manage multiple stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Driving ongoing process improvement within Finance.
