POSITION SUMMARY

The Junior Financial Analyst assists both the Finance and Accounting departments with various duties. Ideally, this person will demonstrate strong analytical skills, work well in a team environment, have excellent communication skills, and will strive to enrich the company culture.
The Junior Financial Analyst reports directly to the Controller and maintains proactive, frequent, and open communication with all members of management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with great attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

· Basic understanding of Business Finance and analytics
· Ability to use the Microsoft Business Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
o Strong Microsoft Excel skills (ex. Proficiency in formulas, data analysis, and reporting) - Advanced skill level preferred

EDUCATION

· Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or other related field - or equivalent experience

WORKING CONDITIONS

· Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
· Consists of sedentary work. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
· Substantial movements of the hands, wrists, and/or fingers.
· Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures or viewing a computer screen.

Responsibilities

· Complete work order billing and invoicing to various customers.
· Assist with the storm contracts process including, storm billing/invoicing, cost analysis, renewals, and occasional on-call storm coverage.
· Work closely with the Financial Analyst to prepare and analyze weekly & monthly project results.

· Assist in preparing bids for potential customers and customer registrations.

  • Assist in the preparation, coordination, and documentation of financial analysis projects.
  • Produce ad hoc reports requested by senior management as needed.

· Assist in preparing and completing post-close project analysis for the leadership team to improve profitability for future projects/bids.
· Perform various analytical tasks and projects to assist management in decision making to improve the profitability of the company.

· Assist in gathering information for audits.

  • Help the finance team design and develop new tools to support company growth goals and expectations.

· Serve as backup for the Accounting Specialists (Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable).
· Facilitate the educational process by staying current with topics in finance/accounting and help teach/train the leadership team in these areas.
· Other duties as directed by the Controller
