The best hotels run on Shiji — day and night. Job Description This role is fully office-based (Katowice office). Your job will be to develop a part of a distributed system that serves the hospitality industry. It is a solution that allows hotel employees or hotel managers to handle various activities such as managing reservations, payments and hotel services within the hotel or between hotels. The system consists of many domain-oriented microservices developed under a few cross-functional teams. We work in iterations with refinements, plannings and retrospective meetings, use Gitlab to sync the code with develop and master branches, and create feature branch for each User Story. We commit daily and use CI/CD using Gitlab, we open merge requests and wait for review for other team members before merge. Use teams to communicate and or participate in meetings with other team members, cooperate with UI/UX department to provide user the best possible looks and feel of application. We create NPM internal packages to share work with others, create design systems and avoid repetitions. What you will do Developing and maintaining software features based on visual mockups and UX descriptions Writing tests Delivering high-quality code, which is both functional and performant SOLID understanding of best practices, processes and design patterns in software development Code reviewing Understanding of best practices, processes, and patterns in software development Willingness to learn from the best developers in our company Qualifications Minimum 6 months experience as a JavaScript developer or equivalent experience through personal projects Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field (completed or final year) Passion for continuous learning and self-development through podcasts, videos, conferences, and staying current with software development trends Experience with React, React Hooks Good understanding of JavaScript and TypeScript Good knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 Good knowledge of GIT Interest in testing, review and code quality Willingness to work from the Katowice office Familiar with REST API Basic Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming and Design Patterns Critical Competencies Learning Agility: Eagerness to rapidly absorb new technologies, frameworks and hospitality domain knowledge with genuine curiosity Growth Mindset: Proactive approach to skill development, seeking feedback and continuously improving code quality and practices Collaborative Attitude: Strong communication skills, openness to code reviews and enthusiasm for team-based problem solving Ownership & Dedication: Takes responsibility for deliverables, shows initiative in tackling challenges and demonstrates passion for frontend development Additional Information This role is fully office-based (Katowice office).
