Cosmic Ears produce handmade custom earphones (in-ear monitors also known as IEMs) for music industry, sport and security professionals as well as audiophiles across the globe.
Our custom IEMs are manufactured from start to finish at our HQ in Cheadle Hulme south Manchester (SK8 7AA), using ear impressions from our client’s ears, creating a perfect fit. This perfect fit combined with top quality components delivers a supreme sound which we are incredibly proud of.
The product is available online through our website, and shipped globally. This is a great opportunity for a candidate who is keen to develop their experience within a fast-paced office/lab manufacturing environment.
We are looking for a technician who will provide support to the company production team, within a high-tech hands-on manufacturing environment. The role is ideally suited to someone with an eye for detail and creativity.
Training will be provided, but it is essential for candidates to have the following:

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High level attention to detail to maintain exceptional product standards.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and patience.
  • Willingness to learn about new materials and manufacturing techniques.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Multitasking, in order to work on more than one task at once.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.

BENEFICIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Familiar with handmade manufacturing procedures and use of equipment.
  • Knowledge of UV Acrylic material production techniques.
  • Familiarity with 3D printing (SLA).
  • Experience with electronics.
  • A love of music!
Responsibilities
  • Manufacture of earphone shells, using lab tools, UV acrylics, adhesives and paints.
  • Installing and testing electronics in the ear shells.
  • Shaping and polishing of earphone shells.
  • Quality testing of earphones and components.
  • Use of laser engravers/printer for graphics and creative artwork.
  • Repair/modify custom earphones.
