EIA is seeking a qualified full-time Junior High Science Teacher for their Secondary Division. We are looking for an outstanding, dedicated individual who is passionate about working with children. Enjoys creating a flexible program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth while motivating students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a strong educational foundation. All while maintaining a strong relationship with parents, community and staff members.

QUALIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor of Education Degree or higher degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent
  • Hold a valid Alberta teaching certificate, or a valid Alberta Education interim certificate
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Candidates must have the ability to maintain a calm, professional manner in a fast-paced environment which will often require multi-tasking
  • Must have excellent classroom management skills
  • Understand and apply current research-based strategies for classroom instruction
  • Experience integrating technology (SMART board, Chromebooks, Google, STEAM Room) into teaching strategies
  • Supports instruction of identified students, using various teaching methods
  • Prepares relevant course objectives and outlines for courses of study following curriculum guidelines and related resources to support classroom inclusiveness
  • Evaluate students progress, record results, and issues reports to inform parents of progress
  • Participate in staff and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops
  • Culture sensitivity, with experience in a faith-based school environment
  • Ability and commitment to build strong relationships with staff, students, parents, and the community
  • Ability to implement Project-based Learning activities
