Description

Description
At Leidos, we’re redefining how technology serves those who serve. Our teams are united by a shared purpose: delivering secure, resilient, and forward-thinking solutions that support national defense and homeland security. We lead with integrity, innovate with purpose, and build sustainably for tomorrow.
Leidos is seeking a Junior High Value Asset (HVA) Technical Analyst to support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity Support Services Program. This role is ideal for early-career professionals with hands-on experience in Security Operations Center (SOC) environments or penetration testing, who are eager to grow in a mission-critical cybersecurity role.
As part of the DHS Chief Information Security Officer Directorate (CISOD), you’ll contribute to the protection and prioritization of High Value Assets across the Department, supporting compliance with FISMA, NIST guidance, and federal cybersecurity frameworks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-8 years of related experience AND a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field or 4+ years related experience with an AS/AA or 6+ years related experience with a HS/GED.
  • 1+ year of hands-on experience in a SOC or penetration testing environment.
  • Familiarity with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk), log analysis, and incident response workflows
  • Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, etc.)
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail in identifying and assessing vulnerabilities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a DHS suitability clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exposure to federal cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., FISMA, NIST CSF, RMF)
  • Experience supporting DHS or other federal cybersecurity programs
  • Familiarity with Privileged Access Management (PAM) and Identity Access Management (IAM) platforms
  • CompTIA Security+, CEH, or other entry-level cybersecurity certifications
At Leidos, we don’t want someone who “fits the mold"—we want someone who melts it down and builds something better. This is a role for the restless, the over-caffeinated, the ones who ask, “what’s next?” before the dust settles on “what’s now.”
If you’re already scheming step 20 while everyone else is still debating step 2… good. You’ll fit right in.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the identification, categorization, and prioritization of High Value Assets (HVAs)
  • Support vulnerability assessments and remediation planning for HVA systems
  • Conduct system analysis and recommend cybersecurity controls aligned with NIST and DHS guidance
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of HVA documentation, reports, and artifacts
  • Participate in process improvement efforts to enhance HVA program operations
  • Collaborate with senior analysts and federal leads to support cybersecurity assessments and reporting
  • Research and apply cybersecurity best practices to support compliance and operational resilience
