We are WSP. The Opportunity Shape the world around you – as a Junior Hydrogeologist, you’ll join our Mining Hydrogeology team and contribute to projects that matter. This full-time role can be based anywhere in Alberta or British Columbia, giving you flexibility while working on impactful groundwater projects in the mining industry. Your Impact Travel to exciting domestic and international locations for hydrogeological field assignments. Conduct site investigations, including supervising drilling, logging drill core/chips, and performing hydrogeological tests (packer testing, pumping tests, rising/falling head tests). Install monitoring wells, pumping wells, and vibrating wire piezometers, and sample wells for water quality purposes. Compile, analyze, and interpret field data for conceptual hydrogeological models. Support analytical and numerical seepage analyses for open pits and underground mines. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate hydrogeological findings into broader engineering solutions. Contribute to technical reports, proposals, and specifications that influence project decisions. The Skills That Set You Apart Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Geological Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline. Interest in developing expertise in hydrogeology within the mining industry. Comfortable with fieldwork and working autonomously in diverse environments. Strong organizational skills for prioritization and record-keeping. Familiarity with groundwater monitoring, data interpretation, and hydrogeological modeling tools is an asset. Compensation BC, AB, SK, NWT & NU: $69,700 – $92,300 MB & ON: $63,600 – $87,500 Atlantic Provinces & QC: $62,900 – $83,600 Disclosure: The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
