Your Opportunity We are seeking a Junior Hydrotechnical Engineer to join our Markham office. You will be part of the Water Resources Technical Team within Stantec’s Environmental Services Business Line. Your Key Responsibilities As a Junior Hydrotechnical Engineer, you will contribute to a variety of coastal, hydrotechnical, hydrologic, and hydraulic projects within a dynamic design team. You will report directly to a Project Manager or Team Lead. * Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills * Ability to deliver high-quality, organized, and consistent results * Self-motivated and collaborative team player * Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities daily * Recognized for technical expertise and practical problem-solving * Disciplined approach to project execution and technical excellence * Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities * Commitment to Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards * Familiarity with local practices and markets; entry-level project management skills are an asset * Valid G-class driver’s license required * Develop hydrodynamic models using tools such as MIKE 3, MIKE 21, and Telemac to support coastal and river engineering projects, including environmental impact assessments, remedial designs, and risk evaluations. * Apply a strong understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic principles, with proficiency in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and PCSWMM. * Prepare clear and comprehensive technical reports documenting field investigations, analytical findings, and interpretations. * Support proposal development and assist in creating work plans, project schedules, and budgets, while managing assigned projects and tasks. * Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to a cohesive and productive work environment. * Demonstrate a solid understanding and consistent application of industry standards, guidelines, and regulatory frameworks. * Perform primarily office-based work, involving extended periods of computer use and data analysis.
