This one puts you inside the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD), one of the country's most critical national security agencies, where the networks you help build and sustain support work that genuinely matters. You will work alongside senior engineers across LAN and WAN environments, get hands on exposure to mission critical infrastructure, and grow your capability in monitoring, troubleshooting and automation under limited supervision. What You'll Be Doing You will join a technical team inside ASD responsible for the sustainment and growth of network infrastructure across the agency. Working under limited supervision, you will support the installation, configuration and ongoing operation of LAN and WAN environments, contribute to monitoring and troubleshooting activities, and help maintain reliable network operations. This is a strong development role for someone early in their career who wants meaningful hands on exposure to federal government infrastructure at scale. Network Build and Sustainment Assist in establishing new networks and supporting the ongoing sustainment of existing LAN and WAN environments Install and configure systems and network infrastructure, including hardware and software components Contribute to the development of installation procedures and documentation standards Monitoring, Troubleshooting and Operations Monitor, measure and report on infrastructure load, performance and security events Conduct troubleshooting activities under limited supervision and contribute to the resolution of operational issues Carry out agreed operational procedures, including backup, restore and system software maintenance, using supplied tools and scripts Automation and User Support Automate routine system administration tasks using standard tools and basic scripting Use standard diagnostic tools to test installations, document outcomes and record components installed and removed Assist users and follow agreed escalation procedures for additional support What You'll Bring The Essentials You must hold a current PV security clearance and be an Australian citizen to be considered for this role Hands on experience provisioning, installing, configuring and maintaining infrastructure services and components in line with SFIA Level 3 expectations Practical experience across LAN and WAN environments, including installation, configuration and troubleshooting Experience monitoring infrastructure load, performance and security events, and contributing to incident resolution Working knowledge of basic scripting and standard tools to automate routine system administration tasks Even if you don't tick every box, don't let that hold you back.
