We are currently looking to grow our team and are looking for a talented and motivated Junior Interior Designer to join our vibrant team and contribute to the continued growth and success of our practice.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Qualifications: Degree or equivalent qualification in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in an interior design or architectural environment (internships or work experience is considered).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), and MS Office Suite.
  • Creativity & Attention to Detail: A strong design eye with a passion for aesthetics and an ability to focus on the finer details.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and confidently.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and creatively to solve design challenges in practical and innovative ways.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong time management and multitasking abilities to handle multiple projects with varying deadlines.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to the team’s overall success.
  • Additional Requirement: Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a car. The role will require site visits around the Dublin area, so candidates must be based in or near Dublin.
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Junior Interior Designer at Ash Wilson Design, you will work closely with our senior designer and project team to bring design concepts to life. You will assist in all stages of the design process, from concept development and material selection to creating mood boards, 3D visualisations, and overseeing installations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to develop their skills in a creative and supportive environment while contributing to a wide range of exciting design projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design Support: Assist in creating design concepts, layouts, and detailed drawings, helping to shape the overall aesthetic of each project.
  • Mood Boards & Concept Development: Create mood boards, material boards, and presentations to communicate design ideas effectively to clients.
  • CAD & Technical Drawings: Use CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, etc.) to produce technical drawings, floor plans, elevations, and joinery details.
  • Client & Supplier Liaison: Assist in communicating with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure design integrity and quality is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Material Sourcing & Selection: Support the team in sourcing materials, finishes, furniture, and decor items that align with the project’s vision and budget.
  • Site Visits & Installations: Attend site visits to monitor progress, assess design implementation, and support installations when necessary.
  • Research & Trend Analysis: Stay up to date with industry trends, new products, and materials to inform design choices and enhance your design knowledge.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the design team, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
