Boutique Interior Design Firm is looking for a full time Junior Interior Designer to join our team!
We are looking for someone who wants to be a part of a small, but extremely busy design team. If you are motivated to work, and constantly learn all aspects of interior design and project management we would love to meet you!
The job will entail:
-Computer-based drafting (AutoCAD). You will be measuring on job sites and creating drawings in CAD. Drawing space plans, elevations, and lighting plans, etc.
-Must have knowledge & experience preparing plans for permit submittals in California
-Sketchup experience is a plus!
-Photoshop & illustrator, google drive presentation sheets
-Product sourcing & keeping library organized and up to date (valid drivers license and access to car required)
-Vendor communication: gathering material specs, pricing, quotes, shipping, lead times & tracking product
-Project organization- keeping all project folders, spreadsheets, to do lists up to date, and organized, follow up
-Trade communication: creating trade day plans for electrical, plumbing, paint, etc.
-Specification book creation
-Measuring on site
-Researching products/ materials and their appropriate applications, gathering samples
-Preparing client product budgets
-Assisting in project management as needed
-3D rendering skills a plus! (though not required)
-Knowledge of residential product vendors and where to source products
-Assisting in project installations & staging photoshoots, this is hands on can be very dirty, cleaning may be needing
-Receiving and inspection product for damages
-Able to lift 50 pounds - including of large tile samples, small furniture items, and accessories required
Applicants must be local, have access to a car, and be willing and able to work throughout El Dorado, Placer and Sacramento Counties. Our studio is located on Main St. in Placerville, CA. This position requires the Designer to work out of our design studio - this is not a remote position.
Applicants should also be self starters with a passion of interior design, a good sense of humor, a keen attention to detail, willing to hustle and works well under pressure, punctual, and a willingness to learn and grow. You must be an organized person with the ability to multi task efficiently. Must work well on your own and be able to complete tasks within a timely manor. Details cannot be missed in this profession. You will be required to produce and meet goals for client billable hours - keep track of all time. Understanding of construction and renovations is required.
Requirements: College Degree in Interior Design or a minimum of 2 years experience working full time with an interior design or architectural firm . Efficient in AutoCAD a must. This is not an entry level position.
Hours are M-F 9-5:30pm.
