OVERVIEW

We are seeking a creative and motivated Junior Interior Designer to join the team. This is a part-time, on-site role in our Westfield studio, with the potential to grow into a full-time position. The Junior Designer will work closely with the senior design team to support all phases of the design process — from concept through installation. The role blends technical skills with artistic vision, and project management abilities to ensure successful outcomes in various design initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in design software including SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Previous experience in construction or remodeling is beneficial but not required.
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A passion for interior design and a keen eye for detail are essential for success in this role.
  • Local to North/Central New Jersey or willing to travel to job sites as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with senior designer to develop design concepts and presentations for clients.
  • Utilize software tools such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite to create detailed design plans and renderings.
  • Assist in drafting floor plans, elevations, and sections while ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Participate in project management tasks including scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating with contractors and vendors.
  • Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and gather information for design development.
  • Research materials, furnishings, and finishes that align with the overall design vision.
  • Prepare lighting designs that enhance the aesthetic appeal of spaces while considering functionality.
  • Support the sales process by creating compelling presentations that effectively communicate design ideas to clients.
