REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum requirements for the role include:
· Master’s level (MEng or MASc) degree in Structural (Civil) Engineering from an accredited University.
· Minimum of 1 year post graduation work experience in a Structural Engineering (EIT) role.
· Familiarity with Canadian design codes including the National Building Code, CSA S16, CSA O86 and CSA A23.3
· Registered, or eligible for registration, as an EIT or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC
· Eligible for work in Canada
· Ability to communicate fluently and professionally through written and spoken English, clear and precise design calculations and sketches and formal written reports
Additional relevant capabilities that will be considered an asset includes Marine, Bridge or Mass timber design experience, Site Engineering experience, and familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit or other drafting or modelling software.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The position offers a competitive and frequently reviewed salary based on level of experience, with an anticipated range of $75,000 (Junior) to $125,000 (Intermediate with P.Eng registration).
The role offers opportunity and support for advancement from a Junior / Intermediate Engineer to a Senior Structural Engineer.
We encourage continuing education and professional development, and we will cover the costs associated with classes, courses and seminars, in support of registration as a professional Structural Engineer (P.Eng.) and potential future registration as a designated Structural Engineer (Struct.Eng.) for motivated staff.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:
We are looking for a Junior or Intermediate Structural Engineer seeking a longer-term, career-building move to a small active team working on a wide range of projects across multiple sectors. The role will include:
· Structural design work across a range of infrastructure projects, including analysis and design of various structure types from conventional buildings and bridges to unique structures such as debris booms, debris barriers, penstock, hydroelectric intakes, and vessel berthing dolphins.
· Design considering masonry, steel, concrete, and light and mass timber materials.
· Developing finite element structural models and structural details combined with 2D and 3D drafting and modelling work.
· Structural field reviews including field work throughout BC and further afield.
· Structural and condition assessments of existing structures. Rehabilitation design and seismic upgrades.
· Technical report writing and project technical specification preparation.
· Communication and coordination with other Engineers, Contractors, Vendors and Clients.
