Vanguard’s Investment Data Operations team is seeking a Junior Investment Data Analyst to join! In this operational role, you will produce timely and accurate gold-copy investment data within your assigned data domain, with a strong focus on data quality, management, and meeting critical timelines. This is not a data science or data visualization role—while there may be some exposure to those areas, the primary emphasis is on operational execution and process improvement. You’ll be responsible for executing and analyzing a wide range of complex data exception reports, quality control queries, and periodic reports. Additionally, you will proactively engage and collaborate with colleagues across departments within the enterprise to enhance and sustain operational processes.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers timely, accurate gold-copy investment data with a focus on efficiency, quality, and data integrity. Manages competing priorities and resolves data exceptions with internal and external partners.
  • Executes and analyzes daily and periodic reports and quality checks. Troubleshoots data issues, ensures service levels are met, and escalates problems as needed.
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities and implements solutions to enhance efficiency and data quality.
  • Builds strong cross-functional relationships and collaborates across FFS, IMG, and the enterprise to support global operations.
  • Develops deep knowledge of assigned funds and securities to support accurate data production and understand downstream impacts.
  • Supports projects through testing, monitoring, and ensuring data accuracy using business knowledge and test cases.
  • Maintains and improves procedures and workflows, identifying and raising control gaps to ensure compliance.
  • Contributes to special projects and performs additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the financial or investment industry.
  • Strong analytical, research, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; effective team collaborator.
  • Sound judgment with the ability to quickly analyze and resolve issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of VBA and SQL is a plus.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to prioritize and perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities.
