About the role We are looking for a Junior IT Buyer (m/f/d) to join our Procurement team and support the purchasing of IT hardware, software, and services. This position is designed for candidates at the beginning of their professional career who bring a structured working style, a collaborative mindset, and the motivation to develop hands-on expertise in IT procurement. You will be guided by experienced colleagues and given real responsibility from the start. Your Responsibilities Processing purchase orders for IT hardware, software licenses, peripherals, and related services in line with company policies and approval workflows. Liaising with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes, track order status, and resolve delivery or invoicing discrepancies. Supporting the maintenance of the supplier database, ensuring vendor information, contracts, and pricing agreements are accurate and up to date. Assisting senior buyers in sourcing activities, RFQ (Request for Quotation) processes, and supplier comparisons. Collaborating with the IT, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure procurement aligns with project timelines and budget constraints. Contributing to the tracking and reporting of procurement KPIs such as lead times, cost savings, and vendor performance. Ensuring all purchasing activities comply with internal controls, audit requirements, and company procurement guidelines. Essential Skills A structured, reliable, proactive and detail-oriented way of working. Basic understanding of procurement processes and the purchase-to-pay (P2P) cycle. Good communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude. Familiarity with IT product categories (laptops, software licenses, networking equipment, peripherals) is a plus but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (pivot tables, basic functions like SUMIF and XLOOKUP). Experience with or exposure to an ERP or procurement system (SAP, Oracle, Coupa, ServiceNow, or similar) is an advantage. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Professional proficiency in English; knowledge of German or any additional European language is considered a plus."
