JOB SUMMARY

The Junior IT Support Technician in the hospitality sector plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all IT systems within the organization. In this role you will provide first-line IT support and assist with the setup and maintenance of IT systems across the Estate.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • IT-related certification such as CompTIA qualification or Diploma.
  • Proven experience in IT support, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Proficiency in operating systems, network protocols, and software applications commonly used in hospitality settings.
  • Familiarity with IT security best practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written and great attention to detail and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland

PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience supporting new and updated services with IT and across business functions.
  • Strong communicator and comfortable in contributing to the overall customer strategy.
  • Background in selecting and implementing IT solutions.
  • Desire to grow professionally through ongoing education.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line technical support and troubleshoot system and network problems to include Point of Sale (POS) and Property Management Systems (PMS) across the Estate.
  • Log and manage support tickets with external IT support partners and escalate to IT Support Coordinator when necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance on IT systems and peripherals.
  • Assist with setup of hardware including desktops, laptops, printers, and phones.
  • Build, develop and maintain documentation including user guides and procedures for the various systems and services deployed.
  • Support the IT Support Coordinator with the rollout of new software applications and IT projects.
  • Establish a good working relationship with other professionals within Westport Estate, ensuring that the IT department delivers a reliable, responsive and high-quality service.
