Description

SRL is seeking to recruit a Junior Laboratory Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out analytical work in the onsite laboratory, which will analyse water and ore/rock samples.
This is a fulltime on-site role, 40hrs per week. Role reports to the Lab Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Higher Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

· Experience in a laboratory will be an advantage.
· Must have a valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

· Carryout sampling and maintenance of environmental equipment in the field as may be required.
· Preparing water and ore samples for testing.
· Operating analytical equipment, such as ICP-OES, IC, XRF, spectrophotometer, pH-meter etc under supervision.
· Testing water samples for various parameters by wet chemistry technics including COD, BOD, suspended solids etc.
· Testing ore samples.
· Participating in proficiency testing.
· Reporting results of analyses.
· Be trained and able to carry out any other analytical tests in the laboratory as may be required.
· Following all company and laboratory procedures.
· Maintaining of a clean and safe laboratory environment.
