As a Legal Counsel at Paymenttools, you will be an essential part of our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the legal integrity of our company. This position requires someone who can work independently and has experience in contract law and the regulatory environment as well as a basic understanding of technical services in the payment business and the regulatory environment.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

  • You have around 5 years of professional experience as a fully qualified lawyer specialising in contract law, ideally in a law firm
  • Expertise in banking supervisory law is welcomed, additional in-house expertise is a plus
  • You have experience with financial services and/or in the area of payment
  • You work independently and autonomously. Advising on business-critical decisions is one of your core competences
  • You like to build things and are motivated by the prospect of further familiarising yourself with specialised fields in the payment sector and developing creative solutions for them
  • You have excellent communication skills & are fluent, authoritative and to the point in written and spoken German and English at all levels of the organisation

Responsibilities
  • You provide comprehensive legal advice for all business areas of Paymenttools, especially in the product area.
  • You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts with customers, suppliers and business partners.
  • You will create scalable templates for contracts, Terms and Conditions and other legal documents.
  • You identify and assess legal risks for payment tools and develop suitable measures to minimise risks.
  • You ensure compliance with all regulations and laws relevant to us, in particular the regulations applicable to e-money institutions and payments.
