What are we looking for? We’re looking for a hands-on, motivated Junior Maintenance Technician who wants to grow into an Artisan or Engineer. You’ll support mechanical and electrical fault-finding, assist with preventative and corrective maintenance, and help keep machines and equipment running safely and efficiently. What do we expect from the candidate? A motivated, safety‑minded team player who’s eager to learn, supports maintenance tasks, and pays attention to detail. The key responsibilities: Assist with and learn to carry out mechanical and electrical fault finding and repair. Ensure that machines are in working order and preventative maintenance is done to avoid loss of time. Assist with planned preventative maintenance checks as per schedule. Assist Maintenance Technicians with breakdown (corrective) maintenance Contribute to ensuring minimum stock level of consumables and critical spares is maintained Develop his/her knowledge of PLCs (if applicable to equipment). Work safely with 220V and 380V powered equipment. Ensure good housekeeping in the maintenance workshop Install, service, repair and maintain existing and new equipment. Carry out jobs as per job cards, for completion as soon as possible. Perform basic workshop functions (grinding, welding, etc) as and when necessary Maintain and improve the visual appearance of all machinery and buildings. Do alterations or modifications to plant and equipment, as and when required. Perform standby duties when deemed competent enough to do so. Maintain plant and equipment in a safe, compliant condition. Carry out PTOs and other safety audits. If you possess… Must-Have: Grade 12 (Matric) N3 in Mechanical Engineering Minimum of 1 year experience in manufacturing industry. Computer Literate in Microsoft applications.
