Purpose of the role Reporting to the Business Partner the Junior Management Accountant provides hand on assistance in the completion of the management accounts for the Group including month end management accounts (Balance Sheet, P&L and Cashflow) reporting of actuals to budget or forecast and assisting with the preparation and reporting for the Annual Plans and 5 year Plans. To be successful in this role you will bring a strong technical accounting capability along with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. A knowledge and understanding of te reo maōri and tikanga, or the willingness to develop in these areas, would be an advantage. Ngā tino pūkenga/whēako | Qualifications & Experience Studying towards a tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting is preferred Understanding of spreadsheeting including models A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in finance and accounting Strong written and verbal communication skills Advanced capability in Excel and proficiency in Word and PowerPoint Experience working with accounting systems Key Result Areas: Assist with the preparation of the monthly management reporting to senior management as well as the Board(s) Assist with the commentary to accompany the management reporting providing insights into the performance for the month Ad-hoc management reporting and deep dive analysis into the monthly result when requested Analysis of strategic initiatives Assist with the preparation of Annual Plans and 5 Year Plans providing additional analysis of strategic areas and commentary Assist with the preparation of ad-hoc management reporting requests including deep dives and analytic reporting Assist with the provision of timely accurate and robust financial analysis to support business decision making Requirements & Checks Applicants must have the right to work in New Zealand.
