Fostet Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a Junior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team.
Your responsibilities will include:

Engineering & Process Development

  • Create and update manufacturing process plans and job travelers using the company’s ERP system.
  • Maintain accurate customer drawings, specifications, and revision changes in documentation.
  • Design 3D models, fixtures, and tooling using SolidWorks.
  • Conduct time studies and analyze past job data to improve estimates and cycle times.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
  • Support other departments as needed and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Estimating & Job Performance

  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotes for material, heat treatment, machining, welding, surface treatment, drawings or other outsourced processes.
  • Input approved costing in the ERP system to generate quotes and submit to customers.

Quality & Compliance

  • Abide by ISO 9001:2015 quality management standards, processes and procedures.
  • Act as a liaison between Engineering and Quality teams to ensure consistency of manufacturing documentation between both departments.

Qualifications

  • Minimum college diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or other aligned minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have experience with SolidWorks, and familiarity with ERP systems
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings. Strong knowledge geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • CNC machining background is an asset
  • Knowledge of cutting tools and fixturing is an asset
  • Familiarity of CNC Programming is an asset
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills in English both written and orally
  • Must have strong organizational skills, be a self-starter, team player and an active listener
  • Strong documentation skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to manage various projects simultaneously.
