Manufacturing Engineer
US Door Equipment Corp., a leading manufacturer of elevator door equipment, is seeking a hands-on, adaptable Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team in Oxford, Connecticut. This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow their career and thrives in a fast-paced dynamic environment, enjoys solving problems, and is comfortable wearing multiple hats to support production, process improvement, and operational excellence.
Hours: 7am-3:30pm (occasional overtime), Monday-Friday.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal fabrication, assembly, or related industries.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and production documentation.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing tools, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a willingness to jump in wherever needed to support the team.
  • Punctual and dependable.
  • Neat and orderly execution of tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Capable of bending, twisting, squatting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing for long periods of time while performing physically demanding repetitive job tasks.
  • Capable of working in a warehouse setting with varying temperatures and potential exposure to different conditions.
  • Attention to detail, self-motivation, ability to work in a team environment and neatness are essential skills for this position.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $59,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes for efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Develop work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions to reduce waste and improve throughout.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to assembly teams on the production floor.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and collaborate with maintenance.
  • Assist with tooling, fixtures, and layout improvements to optimize workflow.
  • Support quality assurance efforts by developing inspection procedures and ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of process changes, test results, and production metrics.
  • Partner with design engineering, supply chain, and operations teams to ensure smooth product launches and process changes.
  • Train production staff on new processes and procedures.
  • Lead or participate in special projects, such as equipment installations, cost reduction initiatives, or layout redesigns.
  • Manage timelines, resources, and deliverables to meet project objectives.
  • Wear Common Protective or Safety Equipment such as Safety Shoes, Glasses, Gloves, Hearing Protection etc.
  • Follow company procedures and directives.
  • Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace.
  • Being able to track deadlines, juggle schedules, and allocate time to tasks
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
