Description

Job content:As a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer, you are responsible for designing and improving packaging machines;
Designing and modeling machine parts in SolidWorks as a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer;
Performing FEM analyses and preparing technical drawings and bills of materials;
Supporting service and sales with technical documentation and support;
Assisting with the assembly, testing, and fine-tuning of prototypes during test setups;
You work primarily on customer-specific machines and platform development, with a distribution of approximately 70% customer-specific machines and 30% platform development and small series;
Activities consist of design and modeling (approximately 50%), testing and validation (20%), analysis and optimization (15%), coordination with suppliers and work preparation (15%);
The materials you work with are steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and engineering plastics for frame and moving parts;
You work in a multidisciplinary project team of typically 4-6 engineers and coordinate daily with production, electrical engineering, procurement, and service;
Prototyping and testing are a structural part of the work and take place largely internally, with additional external testing where necessary;
You are the technical point of contact for 5-10 regular suppliers regarding specifications and quality control, and have an advisory role in sub-budgets and cost-price optimization;
CAD and document management are handled in SolidWorks with a PDM system for version control, and you work according to existing design standards and modules for reuse;
Job requirements:HBO Mechanical Engineering or similar technical education;
Experience with SolidWorks and FEM analysis;
Knowledge of tooling, packaging, and machine building principles;
Good oral and written command of English, Dutch is a plus;
Analytical skills and hands-on approach to testing and adjustment;
Willingness to support assembly and service in prototype constructio
