DESCRIPTION

MP Lighting is looking for a temporary contract Mechanical Engineer to work on design initiatives/updates, to start as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will be proactive, able to stay on top of different priorities and communicate well with different departments. You will also be willing to learn more about architectural lighting products.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with Autodesk SolidWorks or Inventor, the latter preferred
• Relevant Certificate in 3D design software is a plus.
• In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Experience in problem-solving and working under tight timelines with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Monday to Friday in person only
• Temporary with the possibility of a full-time permanent position.

• Prepare manufacturing drawings, specifications for production and create sketches or models for approval.
• Assist in designing and developing new and existing products
• Generate 3D Models and drawings with Computer-Aided Design Software
• Consult the Sales team, engineers and marketing team for approval drawings and dimension drawings.
• Review and prepare installation instructions based on feedback from the Sales team, engineers or production specialists.
• Prototyping and testing of working models using rapid prototyping technology until the product meets project requirements
