JOB OVERVIEW

Watertite Heating currently has an exciting opportunity for an individual with experience of the mechanical services sector to join our long established, reputable, and people-focussed company based in the Southwest, as a Junior Mechanical Estimator.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Suitable applicants should possess the following skills and experience:

  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience working within the mechanical services sector
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to plan and prioritise
  • Knowledge of using drawings and specifications would be beneficial
  • Proactive approach
  • Good IT skills
  • Good numerical, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Strong collaboration skills – must be a Team Player

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year

Initially, working alongside our existing experienced estimating team, you will be trained on how to carry out all aspects of the estimating process including:

  • Evaluation of specifications, drawings and other tender documentation received to determine projects requirements
  • Conducting site surveys to confirm site specific restrictions/requirements
  • Management of tender process from receipt of initial enquiry through to tender submission and post-tender queries
  • Scheduling/compilation of enquiries to supply chain for materials and specialist subcontract works
  • Material and plant take-offs from tender drawings
  • Raising/responding to client queries during tender process
  • Evaluation of quotations received from supply chain to determine scope of supply, technical compliance, and commercial viability
  • Presentation of project overview, and draft tender submission, at adjudication meetings and agree final margins.
  • Compilation and submission to clients of quotation letters and associated tender return documentation
  • Post tender communication with clients through to conclusion of project status
  • Preparation and presentation of handover documents/meeting with contracts delivery team on secured contracts
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients and key supplier
