We are looking for a Junior ML Engineer. As a Junior ML Engineer at Translated, you will contribute to deploying state-of-the-art models in production environments, converting research breakthroughs into practical solutions that enhance and expand our AI services. REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Java and Python.
  • Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
  • Some hands-on experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines.
  • Have an understanding of modern LLM architectures and an intuition for how to optimize their performance, particularly for inference.
  • Proactive, self-driven and enjoys solving complex problems, not just in the primary area of responsibility but across boundaries.
  • Ability to move quickly in an environment where things may be loosely defined with competing priorities or deadlines.
  • Enjoys owning problems end-to-end and is willing to acquire any necessary knowledge to complete the job.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the capacity to convey technical concepts to non-expert audiences.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years industry/equivalent experience.
  • Experience in serving and optimizing LLMs inference processes.
    We offer: full-time contract. This position requires daily in-office presence, so we are unable to accommodate fully remote work. However, we value flexibility and offer the opportunity to work up to 48 days remotely per year, allowing for a balanced and adaptable work experience.
Responsibilities
  • Deploy advanced machine learning models to address real-world challenges, transforming Translated’s research from concept to reality and developing impactful AI-driven solutions.
  • Implement fast and scalable Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines.
  • Introduce state-of-the-art techniques, tools, and architecture that improve the performance, latency, throughput, and efficiency of our model inference stack.
  • Monitor and maintain deployed models to ensure they consistently provide value, directly impacting the role of AI in serving individuals and businesses.
  • Manage project lifecycle autonomously, from planning to deployment, with guidance from senior team members.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of machine learning researchers, engineers, product owners, designers and system administrators.
  • Participate in continuous learning opportunities to stay ahead in the fast-evolving field of AI and Machine Translation.
