Description Position Summary: This is a position for a motivated and community-minded individual. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping applicants achieve homeownership, promoting financial literacy, and building meaningful relationships with underserved communities. In this role, you will work closely with the Mortgage Loan Officer to support the mortgage application process from start to finish. Responsibilities will include preparing files for processing and initial review, entering loan information into the Loan Origination System, gathering and uploading borrower documentation, coordinating third-party vendor requests such as appraisals, and maintaining organized electronic files. You will also communicate directly with customers to ensure a smooth and supportive experience throughout the lending process. In addition, assist with Home Equity Line of Credit applications for both the MLO and the HELOC group, and, if bilingual, provide translation support within branch operations to better serve our diverse customer base. Beyond the technical aspects of the role, community involvement is a vital part of this position. You will be expected to actively engage with local organizations that promote homeownership among low- to moderate-income borrowers, represent the bank in outreach efforts, and help expand access to responsible financial practices. The ideal candidate will be bilingual, with Spanish and English strongly preferred, and will demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills. A commitment to educating borrowers about mortgage options, a collaborative spirit, and a genuine passion for community engagement are essential qualities for success in this role. Duties Include: 1. Support Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) in preparing and processing mortgage applications 2. Enter loan information into the Loan Origination System (LOS) with accuracy and efficiency 3. Gather and upload initial borrower documentation 4. Coordinate third-party vendor requests, including appraisals and related services 5. Organize, upload, and maintain electronic files for processing 6. Communicate with customers to ensure a smooth and supportive application experience 7. Process Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) applications for the MLO and HELOC group 8. Assist branch operations with translation services (Spanish/English preferred) to better serve customers 9. Actively engage with local organizations that promote homeownership for low-to moderate- income borrowers 10. Represent the bank in community outreach initiatives, particularly in underserved areas 11. Coordinate with MLO to develop new business, call on current and new customers, establish and cultivate leads through Realtors/Builders, etc. within market area 12. Collaborate with internal teams to identify and support community-based projects that enhance brand visibility and contribute to local development Requirements Relationships/Qualifications: 1. Responsible to the VP Director of Mortgage Lending for the fulfillment of duties assigned 2. Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred 3. Computer skills including MS Office programs 4. Multi-tasking, organization, attention to detail & accuracy, and ability to handle multiple assignments 5. Should be analytically minded and possess good judgment 6. General banking knowledge or mortgage department experience a plus, but not a requirement 7. Passion for community involvement and relationship-building 8.
