JUNIOR NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR:

On behalf of our Consulting client, Procom is searching for a Junior Network Administrator for a 12 month, part-time role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto, Ontario office.

JUNIOR NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Junior Network Administrator will provide Tier 1 infrastructure expertise and support within a healthcare setting. The role involves handling initial contact for infrastructure tickets, performing network and infrastructure requests, and assisting with IT infrastructure projects. Occasional work during evenings, weekends, or holidays may be required for coverage.

JUNIOR NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR - MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in a Junior Network and/or Junior Systems Administrator role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Networking, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Cisco CCNA or similar certifications
  • Strong familiarity with Cisco IOS, Networking, LAN/WAN
  • Basic familiarity with Server Management, DNS, DHCP, PowerShell

JUNIOR NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • Experience in a healthcare environment
  • Familiarity with security alert management
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team
Responsibilities
  • Reviews all incoming Infrastructure Team tickets, performs initial contact, and triages to the appropriate parties
  • Completes Tier 1 Network & Infrastructure requests, including network drops, minor port and switch configuration changes, IP reservations, VM deployment, and troubleshooting
  • Performs daily system monitoring to verify the integrity and availability of network resources and systems
  • Assists with IT infrastructure projects, including hardware deployment and configuration
  • Provides initial response and escalation for security alerts from NOC and SOC, Microsoft Alerts, and vendors
  • Documents IT changes
  • Performs other duties as assigned
