The Junior Network Engineer role will support, optimize, and secure the company’s network infrastructure in collaboration with our MSP, as well as provide flexible coverage across other IT domains such as systems administration, user support, and operational technology (OT). This role with work closely with the MSP, Systems Engineer, and manufacturing to ensure network reliability and secure connectivity for both the office and manufacturing areas.
QUALIFICATIONS
· 3 years of experience in a network or infrastructure engineering role.
· Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+/Security+, or equivalent.
· Hands-on experience with Cisco, Meraki, or similar networking gear.
· Knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure.
· Experience supporting Windows Server environments and Active Directory.
· Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, production-driven setting.
· Excellent documentation and communication skills.
· Familiarity with OT/ICS networking (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, etc.).
· Exposure to cybersecurity tools (firewalls, endpoint protection, SIEM).
· Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).

· This role is 100% onsite.
· Collaborate with our MSP, to manage and maintain network hardware including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points across office and manufacturing environments.
· Support VLAN segmentation for production, office, and guest networks.
· Configure and monitor secure remote access (VPNs) for internal staff and vendors.
· Assist in network upgrades, expansions, and integrations with industrial control systems (ICS/SCADA).
· Perform proactive monitoring and troubleshooting of network performance and reliability with assistance from our MSP and Artic Wolf SIEM/SOC Team.
· Provide backup support in systems administration (Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD, backup systems).
· Respond to user and department-level IT issues and service tickets when needed.
· Assist with cybersecurity monitoring, incident response, and asset hardening efforts.
· Support industrial network and machine controller computers in collaboration with plant engineers and technicians.
· Participate in IT infrastructure projects, including new equipment rollouts and plant expansions.
· Maintain up-to-date documentation on network topologies, equipment inventory, and procedures.
· Work with MSP, vendors, service providers, and cross-functional teams including production, facilities, and engineering.
· Ensure compliance with manufacturing security standards (e.g., NIST 800-171, CMMC) where applicable.
· Participate in after-hours maintenance windows as needed.
