Description

INTERESTED IN STARTING YOUR TECHNOLOGY CAREER?

Thorn SDS are a niche Managed Service Provider, based in Alton, Hampshire, who are committed to enabling technology organisations and professionals to thrive within the Space, Defence and Security sectors.
We have a new and exciting opportunity to join our existing Engineering Team as a Junior Network Engineer, working on a secure project at our Farnborough, Hampshire site, 5 days per week, Mon to Fri ( no weekends), and possible occasional travel to other UK sites.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for an entry role into a Network Engineering environment. Full training, hands-on experience, support, guidance and development will be provided to enable the successful candidate to work towards a professional accreditation and enhance their IT Engineering career. Whilst previous experience is not essential, an interest and understanding of IT Network Systems / Technology would be beneficial.
The role may include short periods of lone working, manual handling, carrying equipment up and down flights of stairs and working at height or in confined spaces and all applicants should be comfortable in each of these environments.
Due to the nature and security of the project, you will be required full-time on site (37hrs p/w), and you must be eligible to obtain, and retain, National Security Clearance via the United Kingdom Security Vetting Office. (See www.gov.uk for criteria). Ideally, you will already hold DV, or SC, however, we will consider candidates without who meet the eligibility criteria.
