Kent Foods, part of the Albex Group, are looking for an entry level Apprentice Junior NPD Technologist who is wanting to kick start their career in New Product Development.
Kent Foods is a successful and major supplier of ingredients to the food manufacturing industry and produce a range of innovative bakery and dairy products. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain real-world experience through taking part in NPD projects.
You will be supporting the development and quality of new and existing food products, working closely with the site NPD manager and Technical manager.

SKILLS

· The applicant should have experience/interest in the food industry primarily in the bakery sector

• Knowledge of HACCP is preferred but not essential
• Self-motivated with an ability to organise and prioritise own workload
• Proficient IT skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook etc…
• Excellent time management and problem-solving skills

· Strong interpersonal skills with effective communication skills

Work Location: In perso

· Performing onsite bake ups to assess quality attributes, including but not limited to visual inspections, sensory evaluations, and measurements of key attributes.
· Mixing and sending NPD/EPD samples to customers
· Manage storage of sample stocks ensuring effective BBD management and compliance with food safety standards
· Ensure cleaning standards are maintained within test kitchen and sample storage rooms
· Maintain NPD documentation in line with BRC requirements and in conjunction with Head Office Technical Team
· Assist with onsite internal audits including GMP, glass and fabrication as required
· Communicate NPD/EPD projects effectively between NPD, Technical and Production teams.
· Provide support for NPD/Customer visits
· Support transition from kitchen samples to factory trials
· Assist with adhoc duties assigned by NPD manager and/or Technical Manager
