HWI has a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Quality Engineer I. Summary A Quality Engineer I plays a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of the companies refractory products. This position is instrumental in developing and implementing robust methods and procedures for process control, improvement, testing, and inspection. The overarching objective is to ensure that our products not only meet but exceed industry standards, being free of flaws and functioning precisely as designed. By focusing on continuous improvement, the Quality Engineer I contributes to the overall success and reputation of our company. Responsibilities Develop and implement robust methods and procedures for process control, aiming for continuous improvement in product quality. Design and install advanced testing equipment to conduct thorough product testing and analysis, ensuring the maintenance of high-quality levels and minimizing defects and failure rates. Oversee the day-to-day execution of quality control processes, conducting regular inspections of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions for identified quality issues to enhance overall product quality. Perform audits of production processes, ensuring adherence to quality specifications and identifying opportunities for optimization. Generate and maintain accurate documentation, including quality reports, inspection records, and non-conformance reports. Investigate and resolve customer complaints, contributing to customer satisfaction and retention. Participate in the development and implementation of training programs related to quality standards and procedures. Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and advancements to proactively recommend and implement improvements to the quality management system. Requirements Entry-level position; minimal to no prior professional experience required. Internship or coursework related to quality engineering is advantageous. Strong grasp of quality control principles and methodologies. Proficiency in developing and installing testing equipment. Excellent analytical skills to assess reports and defective products, identifying trends for continuous improvement. Effective communication and collaboration skills.
