Job Title: Junior Operations Manager – Primary Schools Catering
Hours: 40 hours - Monday-Friday
Contract: Term Time only plus one week (39 working weeks, 44.6 paid weeks)
Location: London (within in the M25)
Salary: Competitive

THE JOB:

We are looking for a new Junior Operations Manager to join our London Team. You will be working in partnership with our Operations Managers and report into our London Operations Director. You will initially provide support across all schools in our London region under the direction of our Operations Director. As you develop in the role, you may take on direct accountability of a number of schools.
The role will be varied including craft support for our Chef Managers, training of new staff, delivering added value activities including chef schools, pupil survey’s, taster sessions, to name a few, liaising with clients in our schools when onsite, auditing and doing spot inspections.
You need to understand the benefits of working closely with the onsite catering teams and empowering, rewarding and recognising each of their teams.
We need you to be an experienced manager having previously worked in contract catering, ideally within the education market and be Craft-trained.

Responsibilities
  • Working with staff teams to encourage ‘self-management’
  • To ensure high levels of communication with all stakeholders (students, parents, teachers, governors and local communities)
  • Ensuring the Lunchtime Co. standards are maintained and delivered every day
  • Run added value initiatives (cookery lessons, theme days, taster sessions, pupil surveys, school councils, barbecues, picnics, recycling, waste reduction strategies)
  • Provide initiatives to showcase quality and choice of food on offer and to encourage uptake and satisfaction
  • Support on recruitment
  • Support on delivering training and compliance within our schools
  • Support in addressing underperformance and implantation of steps to address this
  • Support on human resources within our team with support from the central human resources team
  • Support on retention of your schools and support on new business
