Responsibilities
  1. Provide inpatient care to patients on the general paediatric wards, and in the special care unit.
  2. Provide routine and emergency after-hours care on a rotating roster basis.
  3. Conduct general paediatric and specialty paediatric outpatient clinics at Royal Darwin Hospital.
  4. Participate in the provision of specialist paediatric outreach services to Regional Hospitals and remote communities.
  5. Supervise, support and evaluate the work of junior staff in the provision of inpatient care.
  6. Participate in continuous medical education, professional development, peer review, research, teaching, quality
    improvement activities and clinical audits as appropriate.
  7. Liaise with medical, allied health, nursing and external agencies to provide input into departmental and hospital policies,
    procedures and guidelines, in line with national and international best practise
  8. Participate in Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities of the unit, for the ongoing development of specialist
    Paediatric services in the Northern Territory.
  9. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being
    undertaken, in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
  10. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
