Role Overview
Tazapay’s Legal Department is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Paralegal Associate to support the company’s legal, corporate governance, and administrative functions globally. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with senior management, serving as Board Secretary for Tazapay’s entities and ensuring compliance with governance requirements across jurisdictions.
The ideal candidate will also oversee statutory registers, coordinate legal documentation, and provide administrative support to the legal team, contributing to the efficient operation of Tazapay’s corporate framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Corporate Governance and Compliance Support
- Serve as Board Secretary, preparing agendas, board packs, and resolutions, and accurately drafting and maintaining minutes of meetings.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements for Board of Directors, general meetings, and committee meetings globally.
- Support the creation and maintenance of Tazapay entities, including coordination with corporate secretaries, notaries, and external counsel for entity registration and compliance matters.
- Maintain and update statutory registers, including registers of members, directors, and secretaries.
- Legal Documentation and Support
- Assist in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including contracts, corporate resolutions, and policies.
- Conduct basic legal research on governance and regulatory topics across jurisdictions.
- Support the legal team during audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews by preparing required documentation.
- Administrative and Office Management
- Manage office operations, including mail handling, correspondence with support offices, and vendor coordination.
- Ensure proper organisation and accessibility of legal and administrative records.
- Coordinate schedules and logistics for meetings, including virtual and international sessions.
- Ad Hoc Legal and Administrative Projects
- Collaborate on special projects and initiatives within the legal department.
- Provide assistance for compliance-related tasks and regulatory submissions as needed.
Key Requirements
- Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in a paralegal, legal assistant, or corporate governance role.
- Education:
- Diploma or degree in Law, Legal Studies, or a related field. Certification in paralegal studies or corporate governance is an advantage.
- Skills:
- Basic understanding of corporate governance principles and legal documentation.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly in managing legal and corporate documents.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and familiarity with corporate or legal document management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional demeanour.
