Tetra Tech is looking for full time Junior Payroll Administrator to join our Shared Services team to cover an extended leave. The Payroll Administrator will be a key member of a strong Payroll team and will be responsible for processing hourly and salary payroll from the beginning of the payroll cycle to the end. This position is to cover the leave of one of our full-time employees and will be anywhere from 6 to 12 months in duration.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful completion of Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) with Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) is required.
  • Experience with ADP WFN Payroll system is preferred.
  • Payroll experience of 2 – 5 years.
  • Experience in processing hourly and salaried payroll.
  • Understanding of the full payroll cycle as well as understanding of basic accounting is an asset.
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation for various provinces and ability to research legislation.
  • Strong computer skills particularly in the use of MS Office, specifically Excel.
  • Friendly and professional attitude.
  • Able to work on a team and independently.
  • Effective problem solving & organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Detail oriented and ability to work with tight timelines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with employees at various levels of the organization.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in an appropriate manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for both hourly and salary employees.
  • Ensure accuracy of employee data in ADP payroll system.
  • Set up new hire files.
  • Process terminations & prepare Record of Employment.
  • Process payroll garnishments.
  • Ensure accuracy of earnings and deductions each payroll cycle.
  • Process special pay as required.
  • Process required adjustments.
  • Timesheet administration on Oracle.
  • Identify and resolve payroll issues.
  • Respond to payroll questions from employees.
  • Create and/or run reports from ADP payroll system.
  • Assist employees with access electronic pay statements and T4’s.
  • Filing.
