Description

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Diploma in Piping or Engineering Design and Drafting Technology and/ or relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of piping design experience in the oil and gas industry
  • EPCM experience is an asset
  • Experience working with 2D drawings
  • Designation with ASET is an asset
  • Experience working on technical projects and project budgets
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD 2D
  • Knowledge of 3D design software including (Plant 3D, CADWorx, and AutoPLANT) software suites
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite programs used to create reports and documents
  • Field or shop experience is an asset
  • Valid drivers licence required

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

We are looking for a Junior Piping Designer to join our Design team in Calgary, where you will work closely with experienced professionals to support projects by applying Federation and client design standards. Reporting to the Design Manager, you will collaborate across disciplines to achieve optimal project outcomes, bringing a sharp eye for detail and the initiative to seek out solutions and resolve problems. In this role, you will be responsible for drafting 2D documentation that supports the successful execution of our engineering projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and high-quality deliverables.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete drafting services on multiple energy industry projects (for engineering and as-builts) of varying size and complexity
  • Compiling documentation packages and producing document sets
  • Work closely with design team members to ensure design documents are completed according to deadlines
  • Collaborate with engineering team in making any necessary alterations to drawings
  • Adhere to all quality procedures and processes as set out by the company/client
  • Ensure work is performed in a competent, diligent, and prudent manner, in accordance with the highest professional standards of the industry and all applicable laws
  • Perform other technical duties to support project delivery
  • Drafting documents for other types of disciplines (electrical, structural, etc.)
