Description

At Macorcap Labs, the Junior Plant Engineer oversees operations that include two canning lines—a 40v and 72v crown filler—both of which require constant improvement and maintenance. They play a crucial role in commissioning new equipment and maintaining, and repairing all production facility assets. The Junior Plant Engineer promptly responds to equipment breakdowns, performs timely repairs, and executes planned and unscheduled maintenance tasks to ensure optimal production efficiency.
This role is instrumental in creating a safe and clean work environment by adhering to procedures and regulations, conserving maintenance resources, and managing equipment and supplies inventories. Duties also encompass completing preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines, troubleshooting malfunctions, and monitoring equipment performance. Preferred qualifications may include experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs), technical certifications, and advanced knowledge in plant maintenance and high-speed production equipment.
Beyond maintenance responsibilities, the Junior Plant Engineer applies engineering principles to design various products such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, and machines. They oversee product testing, create models and prototypes, and develop all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. This includes assisting in creating CAD drawings, designing plant layouts, and integrating newer industrial-grade equipment to improve current legacy systems. The Plant Engineer plays a pivotal role in adapting to constant change and supporting rapid growth within the facility.
A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is typically required. Responsibilities may extend to fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical products. The Plant Engineer reports to a manager and contributes to moderately complex project aspects. Work is typically independent yet collaborative in nature.
Requirements:

- Proficiency in quantum engineering, process engineering, and programming
- Experience with CNC machines and robotics
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
