USE YOUR DATA AND REPORTING SKILLS TO MAKE A TANGIBLE IMPACT!

The Housing Policy and Planning Division at the Ministry of the Municipal Affairs and Housing is looking for a skilled data-driven individual to support evidence-based decision-making in a newly established Data and Analytics Branch. In this role, you will join a highly collaborative team that collects and analyses data, provides business intelligence and reporting to guide policy and program development and supports the ministry-wide data strategy.

ABOUT US

The Housing Market Business Intelligence and Reporting (HMBIR) Unit is responsible for supporting the Ministry’s evidence-based decision making through business intelligence, performance measurement and reporting for a broad suite of Ministry policies and programs. The unit works collaboratively with key internal and external partners to enable data sharing and best practices. As part of the Ministry’s new Data and Analytics Branch, the unit also supports the development and implementation of the Ministry’s data strategy.

COMMUNICATION, CONSULTATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

You have:

  • Communication skills to respond to requests, prepare various reports, dashboards and visualizations, as well as correspondence, briefing notes, policy documents and other communications materials
  • Presentation skills to communicate information and translate findings into meaningful insights to internal and external clients
  • Ability to consult and collaborate with internal and external clients and stakeholders to exchange and seek information
  • Understanding of team dynamics and best practices to work collaboratively in a team environment

RESEARCH, ANALYTICAL AND PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS

You can:

  • Identify and evaluate data, support statistical analyses and summarize findings
  • Conduct research and analysis of various information and present research findings
  • Use analytic tools to create and customize reports, dashboards, and data visualizations
  • Identify issues, examine options and provide recommendations to support policies developed by senior staff

PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS

You can:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of project management principles and techniques to support the development of a range of policy and program reports, materials and other activities
  • Manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Participate on project teams and provide reporting services and findings

POLICY AND PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT SKILLS

You have:

  • Understanding of policy and program development principles and decision-making processes
  • Understanding of ministry issues and programs and relevant legislations and regulations
